Stock foam grips are made from NPVC, a popular foam rubber grip material chosen for its soft, comfortable feel along with its high durability and excellent vibration dampening qualities. NPVC foam tubes are extruded and can be processed in a secondary "buffing" or grinding process that removes the exterior skin of a tube resulting in a sponge-like feel and appearance.

Sculpted grips are buffed with special tooling that also yield various shapes. These stock grips are finished with radiused or buffed ends.
